A Letter

I’m gonna write you a letter
Just to see if I can
Do I have a couple pages’ worth to tell you
Or am I just a boring kind of man?
I’ll try not to write about the weather
It seems the skies are always grey
I want to write you a letter
But I don’t know what to say

But I don’t know what to say
No, I don’t know what to say

I’m gonna send you a postcard
With a smooth inscription on the back
I forget how much the stamps are
But mostly it’s the words that I lack
Maybe I could find a card
With a second picture on the flip side
Just a space to write your address and name
But no other room to write

‘Cause I don’t know what to say
No, I don’t know what to say

I want to tell you you’re the one who
Draws me out into the light
And I can see the beauty of the world
Reflected in your eyes
I want you to know that I still catch my breath
Every time you take my hand
When I think about forever
I see us together

I’m gonna send you flowers
If I can think of what the card should say
I’ve been trying here for hours
Just keep throwing these little cards away

‘Cause I don’t know what to say
No, I don’t know what to say

I want to write you a letter
