Free Fall

Behind my eyes it’s black inside
Light years deep and inches wide
A fragile tether winds through space and time
Glass and steel for wood and leather
Not to feel the pain or pleasure
Heaven help me, nowhere left to climb

I’m in freefall...

Behind the scenes these cold machines
Analyze our hopes and dreams
And track our beating hearts from far away
So high above the clouds I wait
For the stars to seal my fate
The moment when my orbit will decay

I’m in freefall...
