I’ve always been interested in working across many styles, but I have never produced a metal song… and I still haven’t, I guess, but I got closer than usual with this one. It’s an aggressive, synth-heavy hard rock style that incorporates some rhythmic figures in the guitars and drums that are suggestive of metal. But whenever I bring these materials in, I go softer rather than louder. And the lyrics are fairly political, which also might be more typical of metal.
And here’s the bottom line:
We’ll take what’s yours and make it mine
