Hearts & Minds

Time to sing and dance for the dog and pony
Move and shake you're the one and only
In this day and age, it's all time and money
Fast and loose with the milk and honey

Give and take? No, this is cash and carry
Bob and weave as you thrust and parry
Live and die on the straight and narrow
It’s touch and go with the slings and arrows

Our kith and kin left high and dry
The rank and file are sick and tired
Born and raised on bits and pieces
Our near and dear on pins and needles
It’s pure and simple trial and error
Quick and dirty, smoke and mirrors
Duck and cover, run and hide
Swing and miss, fun and games with hearts and minds

Tarred and feathered, drawn and quartered
Flesh and blood meets brick and mortar
Sticks and stones, rocks and boulders
You’re the best and brightest, head and shoulders

But wear and tear is part and parcel
High and mighty, rough and tumble
Here and now each shape and size
Is hot and bothered day and night
Warm and fuzzy, brawn and brains
Rack and ruin, love and hate
Up and coming, far and wide
Bait and switch, fun and games with hearts and minds

Fun and games with hearts and minds
(‘Til we crash and burn)

By and large we’re live and well
Home and dry we’re neat and tidy
It’s said and done and we’re fine and dandy
Well and truly
